Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) is a cloud-based solution that allows you to manage your organization’s devices and supply them with software regardless of their operating systems.

This article aims to guide you through the process of using Microsoft Intune to deploy DNSFilter’s iOS Roaming clients to your users’ devices.

Steps

Navigate to the Dashboard of your Microsoft Intune account

On the side menu, click on Devices. This will take you to a screen similar to the one below:

On this screen, you can target your devices for application deployment. Because we want to deploy an iOS roaming client, click on the iOS/iPadOS filter under the By Platform section.

Next, under iOS/iPadOS policies, click on Configuration Profiles, and on the screen that appears, click on Create Profile

Choose the “Custom” profile type and click the Create button. This will display the screen shown below:

Enter a preferred name for your profile and supply a description like below:

Click Next.

Download the .mobileconfig file here

On the next screen, select the `mobileconfig` file downloaded and ensure the "KEYHERE" value has been replaced with the site key you want the roaming agent attached to.

Give the profile a name as shown below:

Click Next.

On the screen that follows, assign the policy to the appropriate device or user groups you wish to enforce this policy/filtering on ('all devices' is selected in this example)

Click next and ensure that all looks good on the policy review screen.

If everything looks appropriate, click Create.

Once the policy is created, it will be pushed out to the appropriate devices, the roaming client will install, and filtering should take effect right away.
