Use this article to restore browser extensions if managed Group Policy Objects (GPO) disappear after enabling CyberSight.
What we know
In some environments, the CyberSight browser extension installation process can conflict with extensions deployed through GPO. During installation, existing managed extensions may disappear from the browser.
DNSFilter Engineering is aware of this issue and is working on a solution.
Resolution
Prevent this issue by not enabling the browser extension if AD GPOs are in place. While enabling CyberSight, toggle Browser Extension URL off. This stops the browser extension from attempting to deploy.
If the CyberSight extension was already deployed and this issue occurred, the most reliable way to restore the browser extensions is to disable CyberSight and reapply the organization’s Group Policy.
- Disable CyberSight from the DNSFilter dashboard by toggling the feature off in the Roaming Control Center
- Reapply the GPOs on affected devices
- Restart the browser
After Group Policy refreshes, the managed browser extensions should reinstall automatically.
