Forticlient, a popular remote access security software, uses a static DNS server setting for both the primary network interface and VPN interface. This can cause conflicts with the DNSFilter Roaming Client, even when the VPN is disconnected.

The best approach resolve this conflict is to update the Fortigate profile itself to use local resolvers. This method applies to both Windows and macOS devices and ensures DNSFilter can correctly manage DNS traffic.
