Having trouble getting a test Android BYOD device working. No internet access for work applications?
HI there,
I'm having trouble getting a test Android BYOD device working.
There is no internet access for work applications, even though the the App screen reports that all is connected.
Does anyone have some suggestions?
Also how do I get the DNSFilter Hostname to be the AD Device Name.
Finally, being configured from Intune, you can't stop a faulty filter without a PIN, but where do I find the PIN?
Ta, Ian Hearnes

Thanks to Ian for working through this with our Support team! 🙌
In short: Android’s Work Profile setup can block internet access for work apps when the DNSFilter client is deployed on BYOD devices. Because of how Android isolates network traffic, we recommend limiting DNSFilter to work-owned, enterprise-managed Android devices for consistent filtering and connectivity.
Let us know if anything else comes up—happy to help!
