This article provides steps to remove duplicate Users in the DNSFilter dashboard.
This happens when the Roaming Client creates a remote_user_id from the device to use for the sync call to the organization. The API checks if that remote_user_id has ever been synced with the org—if it hasn't been synced before the API creates a new unique user_id value back, which can result in a duplicate User on the DNSFilter dashboard.
Delete duplicate Users from the DNSFilter dashboard.
- Navigate to Deployments and select Users
- Locate the duplicate Users. Both should show Inherit from Roaming Client under Policy/Schedule
- Open each User by selecting the Name and note the last seen date
- Navigate back to the Users list and select delete to remove the User with the older last seen date
The duplicate User is now removed from the DNSFilter dashboard.
