Starting with version 2.0.1 of the Windows Roaming Client, network administrators can run a sleep study to streamline troubleshooting with Support.
What is a sleep study?
A sleep study is a diagnostic process that monitors and logs the agent’s activity during system sleep and wake cycles.
It helps identify how the Roaming Client interacts with the system during these states, including whether it causes issues like preventing the system from entering sleep mode or failing to restore proper functionality after the device wakes up.
When to run a sleep study
We recommend running a sleep study anytime end-users report an issue associated with the agent not coming online when they start their device, e.g. wake from sleep or unlock the device.
Symptoms include:
-
A user logs into their device and reports filtering does not work
-
Their tray icon is red, signaling it is offline
These are good indicators to run a sleep study on the device to send to our Support team for review.
How to run a sleep study
The sleep study includes the device diagnostics logs, so this can replace sending the standard diagnostics logs to Support.
