Use this article to manage DNS Relay version 1.4.0 or higher using the Relay Manager command-line interface (CLI).
Relay Manager provides a standardized set of commands to install, start, stop, monitor, troubleshoot, and update DNS Relay deployments. Use these commands to maintain Relay health, validate configuration, and ensure the deployment remains current.
Relay Manager must be installed before running the commands below.
Install DNS Relay
Install Relay on the host:
relay-manager install
Uninstall DNS Relay
Uninstall Relay without uninstalling the Relay Manager:
relay-manager uninstall
Check Relay status
View the current service status:
relay-manager status
View Relay logs
Stream or review Relay logs for monitoring and troubleshooting:
relay-manager logs
Start Relay
Start the Relay service:
relay-manager start
Stop Relay
Stop the Relay service:
relay-manager stop
Troubleshoot Relay
Run diagnostics and common system checks:
relay-manager troubleshoot
Update Relay
Update the installed Relay version:
relay-manager update
Relay Manager version
Confirm the current Relay Manager version:
relay-manager -v
Update Relay Manager
Re-run the in-app install script to update the Relay Manager to the latest version.
