Network admins use this article to monitor and manage SecureTransit across Roaming Client deployments from the DNSFilter dashboard. SecureTransit requires the Plus plan with the SecureTransit add-on. For initial setup and enablement, see Set up SecureTransit for Windows Roaming Clients.
SecureTransit column in the Roaming Clients grid
When SecureTransit is available for the subscription and enabled for at least one Organization, a SecureTransit column appears in the Features column group of the Roaming Client grid. The column displays the SecureTransit mode assigned to each Roaming Client. A checkmark indicates Always On, a checkmark with M indicates Manual, and a disabled icon indicates Disabled.
The SecureTransit column is sortable and filterable. The SecureTransit filter in the Columns dropdown includes the following options: Always On, Manual, and Disabled.
Roaming Clients running below v3.7.1 or on macOS display — with a Not Available tooltip in the SecureTransit column. Confirm the agent version and OS in the Roaming Clients grid before adjusting SecureTransit settings.
✍️ The SecureTransit column, Control Center section, and per-Roaming Client edit options are visible only when SecureTransit is enabled for the Organization. If these options are not visible, confirm SecureTransit has been enabled at the Organization level or contact DNSFilter Support.
Roaming Client Control Center
The Roaming Client Control Center provides access to SecureTransit settings across one or more Organizations simultaneously.
To configure SecureTransit from the Control Center:
- From the DNSFilter dashboard, navigate to Deployments and select Roaming Clients
- Select Control Center
- Select SecureTransit
- Enable the SecureTransit toggle
- Select a Default State: Manual, Always On, or Disabled
- Select Save
When configuring multiple Organizations, all selected Organizations receive the chosen mode. Enabling the toggle defaults the Default State to Disabled. Select the desired mode before saving.
The SecureTransit toggle displays the number of Organizations currently enabled out of the total.
✍️ If a banner indicates that one or more Organizations are not licensed for SecureTransit, those Organizations cannot be enabled until the account is upgraded. Select Upgrade your account for more information.
Override SecureTransit settings per Roaming Client
Individual Roaming Clients can override the Organization default.
To override a single agent:
- From the DNSFilter dashboard, navigate to Deployments and select Roaming Clients
- Locate the agent and select the Advanced Edit icon
- Select SecureTransit from the left navigation
- Set the Default VPN State to Keep as is, Manual, Always On, Disabled, or Inherit from Organization
- Select Save
To override multiple agents at once, select the checkboxes next to the agents in the grid and select Edit from the toolbar. Set the Default VPN State and select Save.
Changes take effect within approximately 5 minutes. When an override is active, the Roaming Client grid indicates the agent is overriding the Organization default.
Subscription Management
✍️ The Subscription Management page is available in the MSP dashboard only.
The SecureTransit in Use column in the org grid shows per-Organization license consumption:
- A count indicates the number of SecureTransit licenses in use for that Organization
- — indicates that SecureTransit is not enabled for that Organization
A SecureTransit card at the top of the page shows total licenses purchased and licenses currently available. The card appears only when SecureTransit has been purchased.
To enable SecureTransit for a Client Organization, see the Enable SecureTransit for the Organization section of the Set up SecureTransit for Windows Roaming Clients article.
