Branded Windows Roaming Client versions 1.11.0 and 1.12.0 fail to auto-update to newer versions.

The non-branded (whitelabel) agent is not affected. We also updated our testing process to prevent similar issues with future certificate changes.

Cause 

• Versions 1.11.0 and 1.12.0 contain a certificate validation bug
• When the certificate expired, the bug prevented these versions from auto-updating
• We fixed the issue in version 1.12.1 (released 8 March 2024) by updating the certificate
• Auto-update resumes only after upgrading to version 1.13.1 or newer

Workaround

Update to the latest Windows Roaming Client to restore auto-update functionality. 

Deploy the update using one of the following methods:

• Standard deployment
• Silent install
• Active Directory

✍️ It is not necessary to uninstall the older agent before pushing this update.
