Reference this guide to understand IPv4 and IPv6 compatibility with local domains and resolvers added to the DNSFilter dashboard.
Background
The DNSFilter team is working on an update that will allow full IPv6 capabilities while using local domains and resolvers with our Roaming Clients.
Follow our Changelog for notification of the beta and production releases, and until these updates are available we recommend using the default IPv4 settings to ensure compatibility.
IP mode capabilities
Use this chart to understand current IPv4 and IPv6 capabilities and limitations.
✅ Supported. Customers can expect the IPv6 resolvers to be used by the Roaming Client and function as expected.
⚠️ Limited Support. The Roaming Client will use the IP Addresses it is able to support. Other addresses may not function correctly.
⛔️ Not Supported. Customers may experience unexpected results when accessing local domains, and should not configure local resolvers in this way.
