Use this article to resolve conflicts when adding an IP address to a Site.
This error appears when the IP address is already assigned elsewhere in the DNSFilter system. The IP may be:
- Assigned to another Site within the same account
- Assigned to a different DNSFilter account
Each public IP address can only be associated with one account at a time.
Dynamic or shared IP addresses
Organizations using shared or dynamic public IP addresses (for example, satellite or residential internet providers, e.g., Starlink, Comcast, AT&T) may encounter conflicts more frequently.
If the external IP address changes regularly, configure a Dynamic DNS (DDNS) hostname instead of assigning the raw IP address. This prevents conflicts when the provider reassigns the IP.
