Review this guide to understand the DNSFilter Overview dashboard, the default view when first logged into the app. This tab is a high-level snapshot of the organization's account.
The Overview tab displays account-wide activity from the last 24 hours. It’s ideal for displaying in a network operations center (NOC) or long-term display in an office environment.
Overview tab tiles
The Overview tab includes several useful features to help understand organization-wide activity.
These tiles expand to offer more detail in one click:
Geo Activity. The Sites displayed on a map, represented as larger (more accessed domains) or smaller (less/no accessed domains).
Total Requests. The amount of total sent requests. This includes allowed and blocked DNS queries.
Allowed Requests. The total allowed requests.
Blocked Requests. The total requests blocked by all the account's filtering policies.
Threats. Requests sent included in the DSNFilter Threats category. These are either blocked or allowed depending on policy settings.
The next row of tiles display a high-level user and deployment count, as well as a chart of requests from the last 7 days.
Users. The total number of Users listed on in the dashboard.
Roaming Clients. This number displays both active and inactive Roaming Clients.
Deployments. Active deployments by type. Inactive deployments are hidden, e.g. if you did not deploy any Relay you will not have a Relays tile.
Requests Over Time. Total number of requests over time by allowed, blocked, and threats in a graph format.
The final row displays a top-visited domains list and the organization's Sites (MSPs see a list of sub-organizations from the MSP dashboard).
Domains. Infinite scrolling list of domains ranked by number of requests.
Sites. All account Sites ranked by number of DNS requests. The icon color represents activity in the last 15 minutes; green means they've been active and red have not. Click the Site to open the Insights reporting dashboard for that Site.
