MSP account users with Admin permissions or higher follow this guide to create Global Policies. 

Global Policies are policy features that allow MSPs to create Filtering Policies and Block Pages in their MSP account that can be applied to any of their MSP Organizations (sub-orgs).

MSPs also manage Universal Lists from this menu, creating Allow and Block Lists that automatically span across all sub-orgs. 

Global Filtering Policies

Follow these steps to create and utilize a Global Filtering Policy. 

Step one: Create the Global Filtering Policy

1. From the DNSFilter MSP dashboard, Navigate to Global Policies and select Filtering
2. Select Add Policy
3. Follow the standard instruction to complete the Filtering Policy

⚡️ Pro Tip: Policies created in the MSP’s Not for Resale (NFR) Organization can be converted to Global Policies by navigating to the policy and toggling Enable this policy as Global Policy. Once enabled, the policy will appear in the MSP parent Organization’s Global Filtering Policy tab.

Step two: Apply the Global Filtering Policy

🚨 Important: Global Filtering Policies are not the same as Universal Lists: they must be applied to an organization attribute—Site, Roaming Client, User, etc.—to take effect. 

Follow these steps to apply a Global Filtering Policy. These steps use the example of applying the policy to a Site, but the same basic process is available for any organization attribute.

1. From the MSP Organization menu, select the MSP Organization you wish to apply the policy to
   
2. Navigate to Deployments and select Sites
3. Click the policy listed under Policy/Schedule to open the edit menu
4. Select the Global Policy from the drop down menu

5. Select Save Changes from the Actions menu to apply the update

Global Block Pages

Use Global Block Pages to create the same blocked content end-user experience across multiple sub-orgs. 

✍️ Global Block Pages must be created in the MSP dashboard in order to by applied to sub-orgs. 

Follow these steps to create and utilize a Global Block Page.

Step one: Create the Global Block Page

1. From the DNSFilter MPS dashboard, navigate to Policies and select Block Pages
2. Select Add Block Page
3. Follow the standard instruction to complete the Block Page

Step two: Apply the Global Block Page

Follow these steps to apply a Global Block Page. These steps use the example of applying the Block Page to a Site, but the same basic process is available for any organization attribute—Site, Roaming Client, User, etc.

1.  From the MSP Organization menu, select the MSP Organization you wish to apply the Block Page to
   
2. Navigate to Deployments and select Sites
3. Click the Block Page listed under Assigned Block Page to open the edit menu
4. Select the Global Block Page from the drop down menu
