Self-service MSP Partners use this page to select and manage subscription plans for client Organizations. The subscriptions panel allows admins to designate billing counts by users and access points, review Partner cost per plan, and calculate the total cost of subscriptions at the Organization level before purchasing.
✍️ Adjustments made here affect the MSP's bill with DNSFilter, not the MSP client's bill with the MSP.
Our billing information article provides more detail about managing your MSP account's bill, and check out our PSA integrations to help streamline customer billing.
Sales-Managed Subscription Management
MSPs with Sales-managed accounts have a different subscription management experience to better support their client billing needs. See our dedicated overview for details.
Select a new Organization subscription plan
- Select the MSP globe icon, name, or drop down caret
- Select Add Organization
- Enter the account information:
- Name
- Address
- External ID
- Select a Subscription Plan from the dropdown. Additional fields populate based on the selected plan, and the Cost updates as field values are entered
- Enable additional features such as CyberSight during Organization creation. Supported Roaming Client agents receive the setting automatically upon deployment
- Select Save
- The dashboard will refresh with a success popup. Click OK to exit the popup
Changes to Organization subscriptions are reflected on the MSP's next DNSFilter billing cycle.
Edit a subscription plan
Edit an existing client Organization's plan at any time from the MSP dashboard.
- Navigate to MSP and select Billing
- Find the Organization to update under Subscriptions
- Select a Subscription Plan from the dropdown. Additional fields populate based on the selected plan, and the Cost updates as field values are entered
- Select Save (located below the Subscriptions list)
The updates take effect immediately and a new prorated invoice or credit is generated based on these changes.
MSP invoicing and add-ons
MSP invoices are grouped by plan rather than by individual client Organization. Client Organizations on the same plan share a billing cycle rather than maintaining separate ones.
Data Export is available as an add-on and is billed at the plan tier level. For self-service MSP accounts, enabling Data Export applies to all client Organizations on the corresponding plan—for example, all purchased Enterprise licenses across Organizations—rather than to individual Organizations. Add-on selections are reflected on the MSP's DNSFilter bill.
