Troubleshoot iOS Roaming Client issues effectively with these diagnostic steps to ensure seamless connectivity.
System quick check
Sometimes the issue isn't with the app at all and some adjustments to device configurations can resolve the issue.
Start by checking these features:
- Network connectivity. Verify that the device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi or cellular network. Open Safari and attempt to access a website. If connection fails, troubleshoot the internet connection
- Restart the app. Restarting the app can resolve minor glitches. Close the app completely and then reopen it
- Update the app. Ensure that the latest version of the DNSFilter Roaming Client is installed. Access the App Store, search for DNSFilter, and install any available updates
- Reboot the Device. Rebooting the device can clear temporary issues. Power off the iOS device and then power it back on
- Check for device updates. Confirm that the iOS version is up to date. Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates

Debug Logging is now active.
Step two: Populate and send the logs
- Use the iOS device to replicate the issue
- Navigate back to the Debug settings
- Select Email Debug Logging
- Select Send
This sends the Debug Logs to our Support Team for review.
Collect Crash Logs
Crash logs are detailed reports generated by an iOS device when an application crashes or encounters a significant error. These logs help our team learn about the state of the app at the time of the crash, which can help identify and resolve issues.
Collect Crash Logs directly from the device from Analytics Data or connect the device to a Mac and collect them from the Console.
⚡️ Pro Tip: Search for logs related to the DNSFilter app using the search bar for easier access.
Perform these extra steps if connecting the device to a Mac console:
- From the Console menu, select Action and check Include Info Messages and Include Debug Messages
- Allow the logs to run for 30 minutes
- Copy and paste the Console output into a TextEdit file
- Save the file and send it to our Support team for review
