Common Issues and Resolutions
| Issue | Resolution |
| Filtering works, but “Connection is Not Private” error appears instead of Block Page. | Ensure the CA root certificate is deployed in the MDM Admin Console. |
| Content not blocked and the Chrome Extension is offline. | With Manifest V3, filtering relies on the DoH Template configuration. Verify the DoH Template is correctly deployed to the Chromebook device. |
| Content not blocked and the Chrome Extension is in a not protected state. | If an agent shows as "unprotected" in the DNSFilter dashboard, this means there is not a filtering policy assigned to the device's associated Site. Confirm that a filtering policy is properly assigned to the Site. |
| Device name shows as “[blank]” in the DNSFilter dashboard. | This indicates the devices hostname template was not set. |
| The Extension shows duplicate entries in the DNSFilter dashboard. | This indicates the extension wasn't updated to version 2.4.0 or 2.4.1, which were designed to prepare environments against this issue. Use the Clean Up Tool to delete duplicate entries. |
