Deploy the Android Roaming Client with Microsoft Intune. The Intune Company Portal installs the Roaming Client on Android devices and connects the devices to DNSFilter.
For current Intune processes, see Microsoft documentation.
Prerequisites
Deploy the Android Roaming Client with Intune
To deploy the Android Roaming Client with Intune:
- Enroll the devices in Intune.
- From Managed Google Play, search for
DNSFilterand select Approve to add the DNSFilter Android app. - Create an app configuration policy for Managed devices. Enter a name and a short description, with these settings:
- Platform type: Android Enterprise
- Profile type: All Profile Types
- Targeted app: DNSFilter
- Under Configuration settings format, select Use configuration designer.
- Select the Site Key checkbox.
- Paste the Site Key into the Configuration Variable field.
- Assign groups and users.
- Review and create the policy.
After the DNSFilter app installs, users do not need to enter the Site Key because the Intune policy provides it.
When the app opens, users select Start Filter. After the first time, filtering is on by default, and stopping the service requires the Mobile Admin Pin.
