Scheduled Reports Overview

Scheduled Reports allows organizations to set up a recurring report of traffic on their networks. There is a single report with multiple options available.

The report encompass the last 30 days of traffic regardless of the recurrence schedule, and includes the following:

  • Total Requests
  • Threats Blocked, a total number and a graph with subtotals for each blocked threat type
  • Content Requests Blocked, a total number and a graph with subtotals for each blocked content type

  3. Add report recipients
    Choose 1 or both options:
    • Tick the checkbox to add all dashboard users.

For sub-organization (client) dashboard users to get the scheduled report, they must be manually added to the email recipient input while the scheduled report is being configured.

    • Select one or more organizations.
For each organization selected, a separate input box will display. Add individual email addresses in each of the input boxes

Usage Notes

Whitelabel Reports for MSPs. If a custom logo has been uploaded into the MSP organization, the PDF reports will contain the MSP custom logo instead of the DNSFilter logo.

Maximum Recipients Amount. The maximum recipient amount of a scheduled report is [number of dashboard users] + 20.

Report Scheduling. When a report is scheduled, it will be sent on the next valid day that matches the report configuration.

Report Scheduling Examples.

Monthly reports are always sent on the 1st of the month.

  • If a monthly report is set up on the 15th, the first report will be sent on the 1st of the following month.
  • If the monthly report is configured on the 1st day of the month (May 1st), the first report will be sent out on the first day of the following month (June 1st).

Bi-weekly reports are sent on the day of the week that matches the report date following configuration.

  • If a Bi-Weekly report is set up on Tuesday to be run every other Thursday, the first report will be sent on the Thursday the week was configured (2 days after being configured).

Weekly reports are sent on the day of the week that matches the report date following configuration.

  • If a Weekly report is set up on Tuesday to be sent every Monday, the first report will be sent the following Monday.

Edit and Delete

The most common use case for editing is to add or remove report recipients.

To change or delete a report follow these steps.

  1. Go to Reports > Scheduled Reports
  2. In the Scheduled Reports section, find the report
    • You may need to Edit the report to view the differences
  3. Select the ellipse for the report
    ScheduledReports-EditDelete.png
  4. Select one of the options, A or B
    1. Select Edit to make changes (or view the current report configuration)
      • The Recipients screen is opened
        • Recipients can be removed by selecting the 'x' to the right of the email address
      • Follow the same process used to configure as described above (single org or MSP org) to make any required edits

Be sure to select SCHEDULE & COMPLETE to save changes

    2. Select Delete to delete the report
      • When deleting, a second confirmation prompt is presented

Tip. If you're having difficulty telling reports apart for deleting, when inspecting (Edit) to find which report schedule to delete, add or remove recipients or make changes to the frequency, so the report no longer matches others in the list.
