The dashboard is the hub for managing policies, deployments, reporting, user settings, and more.
The dashboard also includes Release notifications and Support links to:
- Search the DNSFilter Knowledge Base for how-to guides and troubleshooting content
- Access onboarding resources
- Chat with the Support team
- Check system status
- Use the Domain Report tool
- Submit feature requests
User restrictions impact Dashboard access
Restricted dashboard user settings such as Read Only or Policies Only impact what is accessible in the DNSFilter dashboard. For example, the Integrations tab is hidden from users with permissions below Admin.
The dashboard includes a slim view to collapse menu options. Hover over any icon to see the page title, and select the icon to show the page tabs.
Overview
The DNSFilter Overview dashboard includes a summary of network DNS activity, filtering status, threat detections, and user settings, along with quick access to reports and network configurations.
Policies
From the Policies dashboard, admins manage Filtering Policies, Filtering Schedules, Block Pages, and Universal Lists. See Policies dashboard management.
Select a Filtering Policy to manage allowed and blocked categories, threats, or applications; enable SafeSearch; or fine-tune policies with Allow and Block Lists.
Deployments
Deployments is the home base for setting up and managing key network components. Here, manage Sites, Roaming Clients, Relays, LAN Subnets, and Local Domains.
Identities
The Identities section is the home for identity-based policy assignment and directory integration tools. Here, manage Users, Collections, Identity Connections, and the AD Sync Tool.
CyberSight
CyberSight is a device activity logging tool included with the Windows Roaming Client. It records time-stamped user behavior to help admins understand what occurred around security events and operational issues.
The CyberSight dashboard includes five primary views: Activity Overview, Timeline, Threat Trends, AI Usage, and Activity Logs.
Reporting
Reporting provides displays DNS traffic in different tables and graphs to support investigation, auditing, and reporting on DNS-based data.
Highlights include:
- The Insights tab for drilling down into traffic data
- Scheduled Reports for regular exports delivered by email
- The DNS Query Log, a near real-time stream of DNS traffic showing how individual requests are handled
Organization
The Organization dashboard covers administrative tasks for the account. The Organization page includes tabs to:
- Set the organization profile, which is included on invoices
- Manage dashboard user access, including changing the account owner
- Control billing information, subscriptions, and invoices
- Update organization settings including Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), single sign-on (SSO), and personal data display preferences
Tools
Tools hosts utilities that assist with using DNSFilter. Tools includes:
- The DNSFilter SSL Certificate for correct block page display over HTTPS
- The Policy Audit Log to review changes to Filtering Policies
- Data Export for sending query data to SIEM or SOAR tools
Integrations
The Integrations section provides access to all DNSFilter integrations. Select a tile to set up or manage an integration.
DNSFilter integrations include:
- Data export tools including Amazon S3 and Splunk
- SSO supported by identity providers (IdPs)
- Active Directory
- Zapier
- Six PSA platforms
