The dashboard is the hub for all things DNSFilter: manage policies, deployments, reporting, user settings, and more from the web app.
On top of managing the account, the DNSFilter dashboard also has Release notifications and Support links to:
- Search the DNSFilter Knowledge Base for how-to guides and troubleshooting content
- Quick-access onboarding resources to help get started
- Chat with our Support Team
- Check our System Status
- Use the Domain Report tool
- Submit feature requests
Overview
The DNSFilter Overview page includes a summary of your network's DNS activity, filtering status, threat detections, and user settings, along with quick access to reports and network configurations.
Policies
From the Policies page admins can manage Filtering Policies, Filtering Schedules, Block Pages, and Universal Lists.
Dig into a Filtering Policy to manage allowed/blocked categories, threats, or applications; enable SafeSearch guidelines; or fine tune policies with Allow and Block Lists.
Deployments
The Deployments page is the home base for setting up and managing several key components to the DNSFilter account.
Here you'll manage:
Reporting
See all your network's DNS traffic in tables and graphs from the Reporting page. Highlights include the Insights tab, which allows you to drill down into data, and Scheduled Reports, which sends an export of data to your inbox at a regular cadence.
Organization
The Organization section of the dashboard covers the administrative tasks for the account.
The Organization page includes tabs to:
- Set the organization's profile, which is included on invoices
- Manage user access to the DNSFilter dashboard, including changing the account owner
- Control billing information, subscriptions, invoices, and cancel your account
- Update organization settings to enable Two-Factor Authentication, SSO, or limitations to displayed personal data
Tools
The Tools section of the Dashboard hosts utilities and files that assist with using DNSFilter.
Tools includes:
- The DNSFilter SSL Certificate so block pages display correctly over HTTPS
- The DNS Query Log, our near real-time stream of DNS traffic. Use it to see how individual DNS requests are handled by our system
- See how a particular domain is categorized in the Domain Report tab
- View changes to Filtering Policies in the Policy Audit Log
- Export query data to SIEM or SOAR tools with our Data Export tool
